Man struck in chest by speargun fired from passing car in Carvico
A 59-year-old man was injured in the car park of a supermarket in the Bergamo region by a speargun fired from a passing car. The attacker remains at large.

A 59-year-old man was struck in the chest with a fishing speargun in the car park of the Iperal supermarket in Carvico, in the province of Bergamo, on the early afternoon of today. According to ANSA Cronaca reports, the incident occurred around 13:30.
The victim had just eaten lunch in the bar of the retail outlet with a friend. The two were heading towards their car when a passing vehicle pulled up; the driver, or a passenger inside, lowered the window and fired the speargun without leaving the car, then drove away rapidly.
The 59-year-old remained conscious after the impact and was assisted by several people at the scene, including a doctor. Personnel from the 118 emergency service responded with an ambulance and mobile medical unit. The man was transported to the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo in code yellow, indicating a non-serious condition. The woman accompanying him suffered no physical injuries, but was in a state of shock.
The investigation is being coordinated by carabinieri from the Calusco d'Adda station and the Zogno company. Investigators are reviewing images from security cameras in the area to identify the vehicle and trace the attacker. At the moment it is unclear whether the act was specifically directed against the victim or whether it was the action of an individual with psychological problems who acted at random. The attacker is still being sought.
