Police officers, supported by Royal Gendarmerie troops, had to use their weapons to apprehend two brothers in Salé. These men are suspected of having participated in the murder of a person in Aïn Atiq, at the gates of the capital, according to a statement from the DGSN cited by Le360.

During the arrest attempt, the two men violently resisted. Armed with blades, they created a perilous situation for the officers present as well as for civilians in the vicinity. A police officer was struck in the chest during the altercation.

Facing serious threats, the officers responded by firing their pistols. Both individuals were hit by the gunfire. A gendarme also participated in the shooting by firing a round. This counterattack resulted in the immobilisation of the fugitives and the confiscation of the bladed weapons.

Transported to a medical centre for treatment, the two brothers are now the subject of judicial proceedings supervised by the public prosecutor. The objective is to shed full light on the facts and to understand the exact sequence of events.
