Rabat: police officer and his sister arrested with cocaine and psychotropic substances on motorway
A police officer from Rabat and his sister were arrested on Sunday for drug trafficking. More than 5,000 tablets and 45 grammes of cocaine were seized.

According to Google News MA — Crime (fr), the gang squad of the judicial police prefectural service in Rabat, in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, arrested on Sunday 27 September a police officer posted in Rabat as well as his sister, both suspected of possession, transport and trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The police officer was intercepted whilst driving a vehicle on the Tangier-Rabat motorway. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 5,150 psychotropic tablets, 45 grammes of cocaine and a sum of money in national currency.
The investigation subsequently led investigators to the suspect's sister, who was apprehended in the Aïn Aouda area, in the vicinity of Rabat. Initial investigative findings suggest that the shipment was intended for her for purposes of resale.
Both individuals were placed in police custody, pending the judicial investigation being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office. The objective is to reconstruct all the circumstances of the case and to identify any potential criminal ramifications.
On the administrative level, the General Directorate of National Security decided to provisionally suspend the police officer from his duties, pending the outcome of the judicial proceedings, in accordance with the rules applicable to officers suspected of involvement in criminal acts.
