The prefectural office of the judicial police in Agadir apprehended, on Friday 25 September, a 31-year-old Swedish national subject to an international arrest warrant issued by Swedish justice, according to barlamane.com. The operation was conducted in coordination with the Directorate General for National Territory Surveillance (DGST).
The Directorate General for National Security (DGSN) announced the arrest the following day, Saturday 26 September. Consultation of files during the individual's search in Agadir revealed that he was also targeted by a red notice issued by the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol), issued at the request of Swedish judicial authorities.
Suspicions of attempted murder, with no details on the facts
The DGSN indicates that the international search concerns suspicions of participation in "a matter relating to attempted voluntary homicide". The institution provides no details on the precise nature of the allegations, nor on their date or location.
The Swedish national was placed under the regime applicable to extradition procedures, on the instruction of the competent prosecutor's office.
