Safi: three people arrested with 1,488 psychotropic tablets in vehicle
Three suspects, including two women, were arrested on Tuesday in Safi in flagrant possession of drug and psychotropic substance trafficking offences. More than 1,400 tablets seized.
Arrest in Safi: drug trafficking foiled in flagrant delict
Three people, including two women aged between 31 and 36 years old, were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday 29 September in Safi by officers from the judicial police of the regional security authority, according to lareleve.ma. The suspects were travelling in a light vehicle in an advanced state of intoxication at the time of their arrest.
A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 1,488 psychotropic tablets as well as a sum of money considered to be the presumed proceeds of this unlawful activity. The three individuals were caught in flagrant delict of possession and trafficking in narcotics.
Placed in police custody, they are now at the disposal of the judicial investigation being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office. The authorities are seeking to establish the full circumstances of the matter and to identify any possible ramifications of the network.
This operation is part of the ongoing security operations carried out by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) as part of the fight against drug and psychotropic substance trafficking.
