According to yabiladi.com, the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) seized 2.96 tonnes of cannabis resin on Friday during an operation conducted in the vicinity of Benslimane. The intervention was based on information provided by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).

Law enforcement officers intercepted a utility vehicle following a high-speed chase. The driver drove the wrong way on the motorway before abandoning his vehicle near Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca and then fleeing.

A search of the vehicle revealed 75 bales of cannabis resin, representing a total weight of 2.96 tonnes.

The BNPJ has opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor, aiming to identify and apprehend the fleeing driver as well as all members of the criminal network involved in this international drug trafficking.
