Seizure of 700 kg of narcotics in Oujda
A security operation conducted in the Oujda region has enabled Moroccan law enforcement forces to seize a consignment of 700 kilogrammes of illicit substances. The intervention also resulted in the confiscation of jewellery as well as a sum of cash.
This large-scale seizure is part of the ongoing efforts deployed by the competent services to combat drug trafficking networks active in eastern Morocco. The border zone of Oujda is a known hub for the transit of narcotics to or from neighbouring Algeria.
Details concerning the identity of the people arrested during this operation have not been communicated immediately. The investigation should make it possible to determine the origin of the seized merchandise and to identify the links in the distribution chain.
