Cocaine seizure in Fès: three arrests in drug trafficking case
As part of a large-scale operation coordinated between the Fès urban police and the DGST, three individuals were remanded in custody during the night of Thursday to Friday. They are suspected of belonging to a network specialising in the distribution of hard drugs.
The operation resulted in the arrest of a man and a woman, both approximately sixty years old, at a checkpoint located at Aïn Nokbi, on the eastern side of the city of Fès. The couple had just left Taounate province in a motor vehicle. Officers discovered approximately two hundred grammes of cocaine on them.
Under questioning, the two detainees identified the owner of the goods: a man who managed the distribution of the product on the ground. Thanks to these admissions, investigators located and apprehended this third accomplice in the Al Amal sector, near Bab Sifer, in the Al Mariniyine district. This man was already on file as a convicted offender for narcotics-related offences.
All three were remanded in custody for the purposes of criminal investigation, placed under the authority of the public prosecutor. The ongoing investigations aim to completely dismantle this organisation and to find any other possible participants.
