Saint Lucian man extradited to Martinique to serve 15-year robbery sentence

Castries man surrendered to Martinique after armed robbery conviction
Jahvis Marlon Alfred, 26, from Wiltons Yard in Castries, was extradited to Martinique on Thursday, 17 September, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force announced. St Lucia Times reports that Alfred was transferred to French authorities through established legal cooperation channels.
Alfred had been wanted in Martinique on several charges, including armed robbery, criminal conspiracy and firearm offences. In November 2021, the Criminal Court of Martinique sentenced him in absentia to 15 years in prison.
Officers arrested Alfred in Saint Lucia on 7 February 2026, and held him at Bordelais Correctional Facility on a provisional warrant while extradition proceedings were completed.
The RSLPF used the case to underscore the reach of international law enforcement. "To those contemplating criminal activity: Think carefully about the consequences of your actions. The reach of the law does not end at the border," the force stated.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force reiterated its commitment to working with regional and international partners to support investigations, facilitate judicial proceedings and promote public safety.
