A man known to police services was arrested on 9 July 2026 in Dillon after attempting to flee and concealing a handgun beneath a vehicle.

On the evening of 9 July 2026, at around 18:50, agents from the Anti-Crime Brigade spotted a suspect on Rue du Professeur Raymond Roy Camille, located in Dillon, a district of Fort-de-France. This individual was among the persons actively being sought by law enforcement. As soon as he caught sight of the police officers, he fled, but was captured shortly afterwards.
During his flight, the fugitive attempted to dispose of a pistol by sliding it beneath a car. The officers however recovered the weapon. Once in custody, the man admitted his involvement. The investigators also searched his home, where they found two used 9 mm calibre holsters.
The prosecutors were informed of the case. This operation adds to a series of criminal acts that are currently causing concern for the Martinique authorities. The information was reported by the media RCI Martinique.
