According to El Búho.pe, the accident occurred when the police officer entered the exclusive lane of the Metropolitano, colliding with the elderly man as he was heading to a medical check-up in the early morning hours.
Witnesses stated that the officer responsible left the scene without helping the victim. Following the incident, law enforcement apprehended the individual involved, who is currently in detention whilst the case remains under investigation.
The victim's family are demanding that justice be served for his death.
