Former police officer arrested after repeatedly robbing neighbourhood shops in north Lima
Authorities have successfully apprehended a former police officer suspected of committing a series of robberies against small businesses in the northern sector of Peru's capital. The man was identified thanks to surveillance recordings that captured his actions in different establishments.
The suspect's modus operandi consisted of entering the shops posing as a customer. Subsequently, he would intimidate employees and take the day's earnings. The cameras filmed him in four separate incidents, which facilitated the investigation.
During the arrest operation, uniformed officers found a yellow bag in his possession. This item proved fundamental to the accusation, as the suspect habitually used it to conceal the stolen cash.
