Transport security guard executed in Lima by gunmen who return to attack witness
A security employee was shot dead inside the yard of a bus company in San Juan de Miraflores, Lima. The attackers fled after the crime, but returned minutes later in an attempt to eliminate a colleague who had witnessed the events.
According to information from ATV.pe, the deceased was identified as Willy Huamán San Jorge, 42 years old. The man worked as a security guard and cleaner at the company La Unidad de Villa, known as line "W". The attack took place during the early morning hours.
Security footage captured the moment when two hooded individuals, wearing caps and masks, entered the premises. They first overpowered a worker, forced him to reveal the location of their target, and then fired more than ten rounds against Huamán San Jorge.
The victim died at the scene. The attackers fled on foot, but reappeared a short time later firing new shots in the area, reportedly searching for the eyewitness. The employee managed to take shelter and save his life.
Company representatives indicated that they had received no demands for money or prior threats. For this reason, officers from the National Police of Peru are treating a possible settling of scores linked to the victim's history with drug trafficking and domestic violence as the main line of investigation, though they do not rule out other possibilities.
The company maintains its operations whilst the authorities work on identifying and capturing those responsible.
