Anti-drug operation dismantles clandestine laboratory in Lima

The Division of Investigation against Illicit Drug Trafficking carried out a simultaneous operation in seven properties in Santa Anita and San Martín de Porres, according to lalupa.pe. The result was the confiscation of 802,850 ecstasy pills and 55 kilograms of powdered MDMA.

At the La Encantada de Santa Rosa association, agents arrested in flagrante delicto Josué Saturno Chávez, who managed a clandestine laboratory dedicated to the manufacture of synthetic substances.

Among the seized equipment were a pill press, a pill counter, a dryer, and a mixer, elements typical of large-scale production of narcotics.

The analysis of residue in 68 empty plastic bags led authorities to estimate that the organisation had previously distributed approximately 476,000 additional pills before the raid.

Six prosecutors from the Fourth Provincial Criminal Prosecution Office of Santa Anita supervised the confiscation of electronic equipment and documentation linked to the ongoing investigation.
