More than 300 police officers, military personnel and local security agents participated in a deployment in Chorrillos that led to the capture of four suspected traffickers and the seizure of over 1,500 drug packages.

A broad deployment of law enforcement forces, supported by military and local security personnel, made it possible to neutralise two cells dedicated to trafficking in prohibited substances in the Lima district of Chorrillos. The operation involved the participation of more than three hundred uniformed officers from the National Police, twenty members of the Armed Forces and collaborators from the district security service.
In the Mateo Pumacahua sector, agents intercepted two individuals who were transporting a considerable quantity of cocaine paste inside a car with a recovery order. The detainees are identified as Efraín Janampa and Carlos Hurtado. The consignment amounted to 1,040 packages of the illicit substance.
On the other hand, members of the Terna Group captured Gustavo Jiménez and Luis Mendoza, suspected members of another criminal faction that distributed narcotics in Chorrillos and neighbouring areas. In their possession were found 500 packages of cocaine paste and mobile devices.
The operation, supervised by General PNP Francisco Vargas Aondonayre, also resulted in the detention of other individuals caught committing crimes in flagrante delicto. In addition, agents sanctioned more than twenty motorists for driving whilst intoxicated, under the influence of drugs or without the proper documentation, with emphasis on the Costa Verde corridor.
