According to Google News PL, a 15-year-old struck several days ago in Zadrożu (Małopolskie Voivodeship) has died. The boy died in hospital, to which he was taken by helicopter of the Air Rescue Service in a serious condition.
The incident occurred on Friday after 8:00 p.m. on Kościelna Street in Zadrożu. The unconscious 15-year-old was found on the roadside. A search for the boy began after his parents became concerned about his absence from home.
Tomasz Waszczuk, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Kraków, told the Interia portal that the boy's death was confirmed on Tuesday. The news was first reported by the "Kraków dla Nas" editorial office.
Early on Sunday morning, officers detained a 26-year-old suspected of striking the boy. The man allegedly hid his car on his grandmother's property and then took shelter in the home of relatives in a neighbouring county. He was located by his own acquaintances, who recognised the car in footage published by police. After his arrest, the man admitted to the alleged offence.
Charges brought against the suspect on Monday included causing serious bodily injury. In connection with the victim's death, the prosecutor announces they will be changed. – The prosecutor will have to change this charge, change the description of the offence, and it will involve causing the victim's death, – explained prosecutor Waszczuk.
Even before the 15-year-old's death was confirmed, the prosecutor filed a request for temporary arrest for the suspect. On Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., a court hearing in the case began. After it concluded, it was announced that the 26-year-old would be remanded in temporary custody.
