Małopolska Police have arrested a 16-year-old girl who published a video depicting a threat to school pupils. The teenager has been charged with two criminal offences.

Arrest following publication of security-threatening video
Police officers from the Police Commissariat in Zielonki have arrested a 16-year-old resident of Kraków County for publishing a dangerous recording. According to malopolska.policja.gov.pl, the girl posted the video on a social media platform on 9 October, along with a description identifying a specific school in Kraków County as a location of potential threat to pupils.
The material was intended to create the belief in the existence of a genuine threat to health and life. The arrest took place several days after publication, as a result of action by officers from the Police Commissariat in Zielonki. The 16-year-old has been charged with two offences — breach of Article 224a§1 of the criminal code and Article 256§1a of the criminal code. The case has been referred to the Family and Juvenile Court.
Police draw attention to the dangers associated with publishing materials that may affect public safety. In pursuit of likes and comments, young social media users often disregard the consequences of their online activity. Every recording posted on the internet leaves digital traces that enable the identification of the author, and criminal liability for content does not end at the threshold of the internet.
