An indictment has been filed in court against a Ukrainian citizen who allegedly carried out sabotage and diversionary tasks on the orders of intelligence services from beyond the eastern border.

An indictment against an eighteen-year-old Ukrainian citizen has been filed in court. According to the investigation, he acted on behalf of the Russian Federation's intelligence service. The matter is being handled by the Department of Military Gendarmerie in Warsaw.
According to the prosecutor's findings, the young man arrived in Poland at the end of last year. During his stay in the Republic of Poland, he was to carry out orders from Russian special services, which involved the preparation and implementation of destructive activities to the detriment of the Polish state.
Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesman for the minister coordinating special services, confirmed that the indictment in the case of Illia K. has already been filed with the court. The man is suspected of sabotage and diversionary activity carried out on the orders of a foreign intelligence service.
The teenager was detained in March of this year. Officers apprehended him in the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship. During the proceedings, it was established that he had been in contact with Russian handlers and was executing their operational instructions.
The accused remains in custody. For espionage and activity on behalf of a foreign state against the Republic of Poland, he faces a prison sentence of up to ten years.
