Pre-trial detention for assault on woman in Dębica
According to podkarpacka.policja.gov.pl, police officers from Dębica apprehended a resident of Pilzno municipality suspected of causing serious bodily harm to a 29-year-old woman. The suspect faces up to 20 years imprisonment.
The incident occurred on 30 June on one of Dębica's housing estates. At the scene of police intervention, officers found paramedics providing assistance to the victim. From the officers' investigation, it emerged that the man – known to the victim – came to her flat and attacked her, then left the premises before the services arrived. The woman with facial injuries was taken to hospital.
Police officers established the suspect's identity and probable whereabouts. On 2 July they apprehended the 29-year-old and placed him in police custody. After gathering evidence, the man was charged with causing serious bodily harm. The suspect admitted to the charges and provided a statement.
At the prosecutor's request, the Dębica court ordered the Pilzno municipality resident to be detained for three months.
