A dangerous incident involving an armed man occurred in the capital's centre. In front of the main entrance to the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime building, a 29-year-old attacked one of the officers. During the intervention and attempt to subdue the attacker, two further police officers sustained injuries.

According to information conveyed by Wiadomości Onet, the attacker was armed with two knuckledusters and a machete. Despite the threat posed to the officers, they managed to neutralise the attacker and take him into custody.

The incident occurred in the immediate vicinity of the CBZC headquarters – a Police unit responsible for combating computer and internet crime. At this stage, the motive for the attacker's actions is unknown. It has not been disclosed whether the attack was deliberately directed at a specific person or institution, or whether it was the action of a disturbed perpetrator.

Three injured police officers required medical intervention. No details were provided regarding the extent of the injuries. The detained man was taken to a police custody cell. Investigators are now establishing the circumstances of the incident and the attacker's motivation.

The matter is significant because it occurred in a location that is particularly sensitive from the perspective of state security – outside the headquarters of a specialised police unit dealing with cybercrime. An attack by an armed perpetrator on uniformed officers at such a location may indicate a need to review procedures for protecting police facilities.
