A man broke into a blueberry plantation in Legnica county, picked 4 buckets of fruit, and when confronted by the owner, threatened him with death and property destruction.
33-year-old to face charges for blueberry theft with threats and fence damage
On Monday morning, the owner of an American blueberry plantation in one of the towns in Legnica county caught an intruder on his property. The unknown man first damaged a section of fencing, then entered the cultivated area and collected four buckets of fruit.
When the owner blocked his escape route, the 33-year-old began shouting threats. He warned that he would take his life and set fire to the plantation along with the car. Despite this, he managed to flee with the stolen blueberries.
The owner estimated losses at over 2,000 zloty.
Police officers from the Chojnów Precinct, notified of the incident, quickly established the suspect's whereabouts. He turned out to be a resident of Miłkowice gmina.
Shortly, the man will face charges of robbery. This offence carries a sentence of up to ten years' imprisonment. A final decision in the matter will be made by the court.
