Google News PL — Crime (pl) reports that officers from the city-centre precinct in Łódź have detained a 42-year-old man suspected of multiple burglaries of flats. The man has been charged with a total of 11 counts — theft, theft by burglary and criminal damage.
The crimes committed carry a sentence of up to 10 years' imprisonment. Investigators note that the 42-year-old acted under conditions of so-called multiple recidivism, which may result in a more severe sentence.
The starting point for the investigation was a burglary of a flat on Kilińskiego Street, which took place on 19 August 2026. Officers from the 1st Precinct of the City Police Headquarters in Łódź subjected the collected evidence to detailed analysis. CCTV footage played a key role, allowing investigators to trace the perpetrator's escape route.
On that basis, the suspect's identity was established — he turned out to be a man previously recorded for crimes of a similar nature. Police detained him on 25 August 2026 in a flat on Jaracza Street. According to officers' accounts, the man was visibly shocked at his detention.
Further analysis of the evidence material made it possible to link the 42-year-old to further crimes of the same type. At the prosecutor's request, the District Court for Łódź – City Centre in Łódź ordered the remand in custody of the suspect.
Proceedings are being conducted by investigators from the 1st Precinct of Police under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office Łódź – City Centre.
