On Sunday last, shortly after six in the morning, officers from the City Police Headquarters in Kielce arrested a 65-year-old resident of the region. The man is suspected of murdering a 64-year-old woman, whose body was found several days earlier in Borków. The arrest took place in a forested area near Białogonie. During the detention, he offered no resistance, but due to health problems, assistance from paramedics was necessary.

The body was discovered on Friday in one of the houses in the town of Borków. A team of investigators supervised by the prosecutor's office was immediately dispatched to the scene. Detailed examination of the scene was conducted, and evidence and forensic traces were secured. Simultaneously, a large-scale search operation was launched, aimed at finding the person who was last seen with the victim whilst alive.

The operation involved 591 police officers from various departments and units. The composition of the force was diverse – alongside criminal investigators and patrol officers, counter-terrorism specialists appeared, as well as traffic police officers, riot control units from Kielce and Łódź, and dog handlers. A helicopter, unmanned aerial vehicles, and specialist equipment were used. Both urbanised areas and difficult-to-access forests were searched.

Following the arrest, procedural actions were carried out with the man. On Monday, he was informed of the murder charge, and the prosecutor applied to the court for remand in custody. The judge approved the motion, ordering the suspect to remain in prison for the next three months. Further information was not disclosed in order not to harm the ongoing proceedings.

The leadership of Kielce police expressed appreciation for all officers involved in the operation. Thanks were also extended to residents for providing information that helped verify leads.
