Disciplinary Court Suspends Arrested Warsaw Lawyer
According to gazetaprawna.pl, the Disciplinary Court of the Bar Association made a decision on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, to immediately suspend Maciej Z. from exercising professional activities. The suspension applies for the duration of the temporary arrest, to which the court imposed a three-month arrest on the 48-year-old.
The decision means the lawyer lost the ability to represent clients and conduct practice overnight. The Regional Bar Association in Warsaw announced earlier that it would appoint an official substitute who will take over all ongoing cases of the arrested lawyer.
According to investigators' findings, Maciej Z. sent documents to various institutions containing information about allegedly planned attacks on individuals holding the highest state positions. Among the potential targets indicated were President Karol Nawrocki and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski.
The suspect allegedly also used data and the identity of other persons to direct the suspicion of services towards persons unrelated to the case. Illegal items were enclosed with the correspondence – including ammunition.
During searches at the 48-year-old's place of residence and car, officers secured laptops, mobile phones, USB drives and memory cards. Forged emergency and uniform service designations were also found, as well as documents belonging to other persons – identity cards and driving licences.
Investigators secured weapons and ammunition. Particular attention was drawn to the discovery of ten artillery shells hidden in a car belonging to the suspect.
