Warsaw lawyer sent false reports of attacks. Arrested after months of investigation
A Warsaw-based lawyer, Maciej Z., sent fictitious information to the authorities for many months about allegedly planned attacks, including on sitting President Karol Nawrocki. According to Rzeczpospolita, false reports were sent to institutions from July 2025 onwards.
Despite the systematically sent notifications, the man remained beyond the reach of officers for a long time. Investigators were unable to link individual reports to a specific person.
Ultimately, a police officer from the counter-terrorism unit played a key role in resolving the case. Through her analytical work, it was possible to establish that all false reports originated from the same transmission point. This made it possible to link the case to the Warsaw lawyer and gather evidence against him.
The arrest ended a months-long series of disinformation that engaged considerable resources of security and intelligence services.
