The prosecutor's office in Ostrów Mazowiecka has concluded its investigation into the tragic death of 37-year-old Michał P. from Łomża. An indictment against two men and one woman who travelled with the victim on a winter night has been submitted to court.

The investigation established that a group of acquaintances abandoned the man on the S61 highway. He was left without a jacket and without a mobile phone, which proved fatal in winter conditions. The body of the 37-year-old was found in a roadside ditch a week after the incident.

The cause of death was hypothermia. The prosecutor's office charged the defendants with exposing Michał P. to direct danger of loss of life, an action that led to the death of the victim.

The case has attracted substantial media attention due to the cruelty of the circumstances. The defendants left a defenceless man out in the frost, depriving him of the possibility of calling for help.

The case will now be handled by the court. The trial will allow for a full clarification of the circumstances of the tragedy and the determination of individual responsibility for each of the defendants.
