Court extends arrest for Stuu in Pandora Gate case

A court has decided to extend the arrest of Stuart K.-B., one of Poland's most popular YouTubers of the past decade – according to RMF24. Before the court, K.-B. denied the charges and refused to provide any statement.

The case concerns the so-called Pandora Gate scandal, which in 2023 shook the Polish online community. The scandal erupted following the publication of material by Sylwester Wardęga, which revealed contacts between some influencers and minors.

The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw brought charges against Stuart K.-B. as early as October 2023. He faces a potential sentence of up to 15 years imprisonment. For an extended period he remained in the United Kingdom, where he awaited extradition to Poland. The British court approved it in February of last year, but K.-B. appealed against the decision, arguing that the Polish justice system was acting under political pressure. He pointed, among other things, to public statements made by then Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki regarding the prosecution of those involved in the scandal. In early August of this year, Stuu was transferred to Poland and placed in one of Warsaw's detention facilities.

The 34-year-old Stuart K.-B. was born and raised in the United Kingdom, holding both British and Polish citizenship. He moved to Poland in 2014, where he began his career as an online content creator under the pseudonym Polski Pingwin, and subsequently as Stuu. He initially published content related to the game Minecraft, gradually expanding his activity to include lifestyle and comedy content. His YouTube channel was followed by over 4 million people, and his Instagram profile by 1.8 million. Several years ago he withdrew from online activity, returning to the United Kingdom to care for his ill mother.
