A dangerous incident involving police officers occurred in Średzki County in Lower Silesia. Officers were called on 17 June in connection with reports of firearm discharge.
Upon arriving at the scene, police encountered an aggressive 35-year-old man. According to information provided by Lower Silesian police, the man was under the influence of alcohol. A muzzle-loading firearm was found in his possession.
During the intervention, the attacker aimed at the officers from a distance of approximately seven metres and fired a shot. Police officers quickly subdued and detained the aggressor. Kommisarz Przemysław Ratajczyk provided details, cited by WP Wiadomości.
The perpetrator was charged, including with attempted murder. The court decided to apply provisional arrest against him at the request of the prosecution.
Currently, investigations are underway concerning the origin of the seized firearm, ammunition and powder. Officers are also checking the legality of the 35-year-old's possession of these items.
