The prosecution in Białystok has brought charges against the former president of the Supreme Audit Office and two other individuals. They are accused of pressuring National Revenue Administration officials to disclose confidential tax data.

The Regional Prosecution Office in Białystok has submitted to court an indictment against the former president of the Supreme Audit Office Marian B. and two other suspects. The charges relate to, among other things, inciting employees of the National Revenue Administration to provide information covered by tax secrecy to unauthorised persons.
According to information provided by Onet, investigators accuse the defendants of acting to the detriment of the public interest by attempting to gain access to protected fiscal data. Details of the proceedings have not been made public due to the interests of the ongoing case.
Marian B. headed the Supreme Audit Office between 2013 and 2019. His tenure ended following a change in parliamentary majority. He will now have to stand trial in connection with corruption charges relating to abuse of influence in state institutions.
If the court finds the accused guilty, they face a custodial sentence. The hearing date has not yet been set.
