Agents of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau have arrested Maciej Świrski, president of the Polish National Foundation. The arrest took place on Tuesday morning. Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz commented on the matter, acknowledging that major mismanagement may have occurred in the PFN.
The minister stressed that all actions undertaken by state services are carried out in accordance with the law and within the scope of orders and instructions issued by the prosecution. Kosiniak-Kamysz assured that the services will carry out all actions within the applicable procedures.
Information about the possibility of mismanagement occurring in the foundation was also confirmed by the spokesperson for the minister coordinating special services. His remarks suggest that the suspicions concern significant financial irregularities in the institution's operations.
The case is currently ongoing. Details concerning specific charges have not yet been officially disclosed.
