Police have detained two men who broke into the grounds of the University of Economics in Poznań and attempted to unlawfully enter an office run by a Ukrainian citizen.

Police officers in Poznań have detained two men who on last Friday entered the grounds of the University of Economics and attempted without legal grounds to gain access to a room in which an office is operated by a woman from Ukraine.
The perpetrators claimed that they wanted to check whether there were objects glorifying Stepan Bandera inside. One of them stated that Ukraine is hostile towards Poland. The victim refused them entry, arguing that she operates legally and respects the citizens of this country.
The entire incident was filmed, and the recording was published on the internet. The woman reported the matter to law enforcement authorities on Tuesday. Officers secured the recording and questioned the complainant. They are now consulting with the prosecutor's office regarding potential criminal liability.
The proceedings are being conducted under the charge of defamation and publication of material that could have harmed the woman's reputation and business activities. They face a fine, restriction of liberty, or imprisonment of up to one year.
The authorities of the ministry of internal affairs condemned the perpetrators' conduct. Marcin Kierwiński wrote on social media that there is no tolerance for hatred and aggression. The Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson Karolina Gałecka emphasised that there is no acceptance of hate and actions motivated by national origin.
