Officers from Warsaw's Bemowo district have arrested two young men who together were defrauding victims using stolen bank codes. The court ordered them remanded in custody for three months.

Warsaw police have arrested two young men who face 118 counts of property crimes. A 17-year-old and a 22-year-old were allegedly depriving citizens of their savings by using a method involving impersonation of other people.
The first arrest came about through a routine patrol in the Bemowo district. Officers spotted a teenager who repeatedly approached a cash machine and nervously looked around. The young man was wearing earbuds and was continuously speaking on the phone. During the intervention, it emerged that he was withdrawing funds belonging to defrauded people using codes that he had obtained illegally.
During the ongoing investigation, detectives identified another participant in the scheme. They caught the older perpetrator at his flat. During the same operation, his associate was also arrested, and prohibited substances were found on him.
Based on material gathered by investigators, the pair was acting in collusion. The victims were misled about the true identity of the perpetrators and then deprived of their savings using account credentials. In just one day, they managed to obtain over 300,000 zloty.
Prosecutors from the Warsaw Wola district applied to the court for both of the main suspects to be remanded in custody. The court upheld this application and they will be sent to a penitentiary for the next three months. The third detainee will answer before the courts for drug possession.
Proceedings are being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office Warsaw-Wola.
