Fake police officer defrauded pensioner of 100,000 zloty – 18-year-old arrested in Sosnowiec
Krakow detectives detained an 18-year-old "collector" in Sosnowiec after he defrauded a senior woman of valuables. He faces up to 8 years' imprisonment.

According to lovekrakow.pl, the incident occurred on 9 June. The pensioner received a telephone call from a person claiming to be a police officer, who convinced her that her property was at risk. The woman lost valuables with a total value of 100,000 zloty.
When she realised she had fallen victim to fraud, she immediately reported the matter to the police. Detectives from the Department for Combating Crime against Property of the Krakow Municipal Police Headquarters launched an operation.
Officers quickly established that the suspect was fleeing by train to Silesia. The following day, in the afternoon hours, they detained the startled 18-year-old in the area of Sosnowiec railway station.
The young man was charged with fraud. At the request of the District Prosecutor's Office Kraków-Podgórze, the court applied a three-month remand in custody against him. For the crime committed, he faces a sentence of up to 8 years' imprisonment.
