Assassination threat against Premier Tusk: Polish security meeting at ABW
Polish police received information about a possible assassination attempt against Premier Donald Tusk. Security services activated emergency measures amid a wave of violence in schools.

Polish police take action following assassination threat against Tusk and defence minister
The Polish Interior Ministry has confirmed receipt of information about a possible assassination attempt against Premier Donald Tusk and deputy prime minister and defence minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, according to vecer.com. The Interior Ministry's spokesperson Karolina Gałecka confirmed the information on the X network.
Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński and Minister Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak immediately ordered security measures. An emergency meeting was convened at the Counter-Terrorism Centre of the Internal Security Agency (ABW), attended by representatives of the police, the State Protection Service and the ABW.
Polish authorities have so far not disclosed details about the nature of the threat. It is unknown who could be behind it, how the attack was supposed to be carried out, or whether security services confirm a direct threat to state leadership.
Wave of school violence with no confirmed connection to the threat
The news comes amid a wave of violent attacks on educational institutions in the Warsaw area. On Thursday, a 15-year-old former pupil attacked employees at a primary school in Leszczydół-Nowiny. In the attack, a 37-year-old school caretaker was killed, and the headmaster and a teacher were injured. Police arrested the suspect.
The day before, a 19-year-old attacked multiple people at a school and its surroundings with a sharp object, injuring nine people. On Saturday, a woman with a dangerous object injured three people at a private school in the Praga district of Warsaw.
Authorities across the country have significantly increased police surveillance of schools and launched extensive security inspections. Premier Tusk convened a special meeting with ministers and security services in the morning. Following the meeting, he emphasised that preliminary findings show no evidence of an organised group coordinating the attacks — investigators assess that these are spontaneous acts of violence linked to online activities and the glorification of violent perpetrators.
Police have detained dozens of people across Poland for threats and illegal possession of weapons. Investigators have so far confirmed no direct connection between the assassination threat and the attacks on schools.
