Broken light led to detention of 20-year-old from Bolesławiec county

According to Google News PL — Crime, traffic officers from Bolesławiec noticed during a night patrol shortly before 4.00 a motorscooter with a damaged rear light lens. Officers stopped the vehicle for inspection in the Gromadka commune area — the driver, a 20-year-old resident of Bolesławiec county, appeared visibly surprised at the sight of the officers.

The inspection revealed three irregularities at once: the young man did not have a licence to drive a two-wheeler, the motorscooter was not approved for road use, and the vehicle bore registration plates registered to a different vehicle.

Police officers detained the 20-year-old and took him to the prosecutor's office. He was charged there with the use of someone else's registration plates — an offence carrying a penalty of up to 5 years imprisonment. He will also be prosecuted for driving without the required licence in a vehicle not approved for road use.
