Woman from Lubuskie defrauded twice by fake 'investment advisers'
A resident of Lubuskie lost money twice – first through a fraudulent investment scheme, then believed she would recover it. Police warn of this scam pattern.
Double investment fraud in Lubuskie
According to lubuska.policja.gov.pl, a woman from Lubuskie Voivodeship fell victim to fraud twice. In the first stage, she lost money invested through a fraudulent investment platform. The perpetrators subsequently contacted her again – this time posing as individuals who were supposed to help her recover the lost funds.
The victim believed the promise of repayment and transferred another sum of money. Only then did she realise that she had fallen victim to the same or similar criminal scheme for a second time.
Police in Lubuskie appeal to residents to exercise particular caution towards strangers contacting them regarding alleged recovery of lost investments. Such proposals – both by telephone and online – are almost always part of another attempted fraud.
Law enforcement authorities remind that in case of any suspicions concerning fraud, one should contact the police immediately.
