According to the investigation's findings, the priest allegedly declared his love to the teenage altar boy, touched him without consent, kissed him, and made vulgar comments about the boy's body. The case came to light in 2015 when the teenager sought help from adults. However, instead of reporting the incident to law enforcement, people around the victim allegedly covered up the entire matter.
A breakthrough in the case came only in recent days. The District Prosecutor's Office in Goleniów has brought formal charges against the clergyman for acts committed 11 years ago. Due to the time elapsed since the alleged events, proceedings are being conducted in specific procedural circumstances.
The case highlights the difficulties in seeking justice in cases of sexual crimes committed by people in positions of public trust. The delay in reporting and initial obstruction of intervention by third parties significantly hampered the investigation.
