The District Prosecutor's Office in Łódź has brought five charges against a doctor for issuing false prescriptions for narcotic substances. The court ordered three months' remand in custody for him.

The District Prosecutor's Office in Łódź has brought a series of criminal charges against a local physician linked to the illegal issuance of prescriptions. The court decided to place him in remand in custody for three months.
The suspect is accused, among other things, of falsifying medical documentation on seventeen prescriptions for preparations used in contravention of their intended purpose during the period from April to August 2025.
According to investigators, in the first two months of 2026 the doctor issued fifty-three prescriptions without conducting a patient visit, whilst simultaneously making false statements in documents. Material evidence suggests that the man himself obtained the preparations using the identities of other persons. Among the prescribed substances was morphine. This activity caused damage to the National Health Fund amounting to 27,494.12 zloty in reimbursement.
In April 2025 the physician allegedly issued four prescriptions without examining the patients, misleading them as to the intended purpose of the medications. The motive was said to be personal gain – the women were to settle accounts with him in kind.
Four further prescriptions in his own name were issued during the period from September to December 2025. These went to a minor, who paid 600 zloty for them and subsequently used the substances contained in them in an unforeseen manner.
Among the charges was also possession of large quantities of narcotic and psychotropic substances, including medications containing amphetamine and heroin. The accused is also charged with driving a motor vehicle after taking drugs.
