According to information from the programme "Polsat News Reveals", a key witness is Omar – a Pakistani citizen who was held together with Bartosz G. in a Greek facility for minors. His testimony suggests that Katarzyna G. attempted to arrange the murder of three people involved in seeking her son's conviction. The man claims that the woman provided him with photographs and location data for potential victims. Among them were said to be the murdered Mai's father and the legal representative of the girl's family. The identity of the third person remains unknown.
Polsat News journalists emphasise that these findings are the result of their own work, not that of law enforcement authorities.
Officers acting on the orders of the District Prosecutor's Office in Płock conducted a search of Katarzyna G.'s house in Mława. Data carriers and documents were secured. The woman was then taken to a detention room. A video appeared online showing her being led out of the building by police officers – however, the material was filmed from a considerable distance and is unclear.
Tomasz Patora from TVN Uwaga reported late on Tuesday, 22 September, that Katarzyna G. resisted during her detention and may have assaulted police officers. According to Patora, it is unclear whether the detention is directly connected to the murder threats or to the main line of inquiry – the matter of Mai's death. Investigators confirm that the woman was questioned and detained, but have not commented on her identity. Katarzyna G. is to be taken to the prosecutor's office in Płock.
In recent days, attention has been drawn to the earlier discontinuation of proceedings concerning threats made by Katarzyna G. against people involved in the investigation. This decision provoked a sharp reaction from Mai's lawyer and family.
Mai went missing at the end of April 2025. Her body was found a few days later in bushes. A year-older school colleague of the girl – Bartosz G. – was accused of her murder. The man was detained in Greece during a school exchange and subsequently brought to Poland by extradition. He is currently in custody. A preliminary hearing in court has been scheduled for 7 October, during which the dates of trials in Bartosz G.'s case are to be set.
