During a night shift, detectives from Chorzów apprehended a man who was dismantling part of an exhaust system from someone else's car. During the inspection, it emerged that the perpetrator was breaking several criminal provisions simultaneously.

Over the past weekend, officers from the investigative division of Chorzów police apprehended a 44-year-old resident of the region. The man was caught dismantling an element from the exhaust system of someone else's vehicle in the Piekary Śląskie area.
During a search of his car, officers found three further elements that had been stolen and tools useful for their removal. Police also seized over thirteen thousand złoty in cash, which may have been used to settle fines and penalties.
The perpetrator was under the influence of alcohol – close to 0.6 per mille was detected in his breath. He also did not have a licence to drive vehicles, as a court had previously imposed a driving ban on him. Additionally, dried plant material classified as an intoxicating substance was found on him.
The prosecutor presented him with seventeen counts of charges. The allegations include, among other things, theft of car parts, possession of prohibited substances, driving after consuming alcohol, and disregarding a court decision.
The committed misdemeanours and offences carry a threat of lengthy imprisonment. A court will soon decide the fate of the detainee.
