Detectives from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Toruń, working jointly with intelligence officers, detained a man suspected of drug trafficking on Thursday, 1 October. As reported by bydgoszcz.tvp.pl, officers were patrolling Rubinkowa Street, where they noticed three men standing by a car in a car park.

One of them was behaving nervously and was holding a shopping bag in his hand. When officers approached him, the man began to run away and dropped a package. Shortly afterwards, he was apprehended by detectives.

Contents of the bag

The detained man is a 38-year-old linked to pseudo-hooligan circles. Police officers secured the abandoned bag, which contained two plastic packages. One of them held plant material, the other a crystallised substance. Preliminary police tests showed that officers had seized more than a kilogramme of cannabis and more than a kilogramme of 3-CMC. The secured substances were sent to a laboratory, where they will undergo detailed analysis.

Charges and verdict

At the prosecutor's office, the 38-year-old was charged with participation in trafficking in a significant quantity of narcotic and psychotropic substances. The court accepted the petition of police officers and the prosecutor and decided on a three-month remand in custody for the suspect.

For breach of regulations on combating drug abuse, the man faces up to 12 years imprisonment.
