Law enforcement officers from the Libiąża police station arrested a 27-year-old who deliberately caused a road accident in the town. The court in Chrzanów decided to place the suspect in custody for three months.

Evidence gathered shows that the man driving a Mercedes deliberately blocked the passage of a BMW driver, then forced contact between the two vehicles. After the entire incident, he drove away from the scene without stopping.

During operational activities, it came to light that the detainee has a court conviction with a lifetime ban on driving any wheeled vehicles. Moreover, through his conduct he also violated an order not to approach one of the victims.

Officers quickly located the perpetrator and brought him before the public prosecutor's office and the courts.

The judge agreed with the request of the investigators and prosecutor, ordering the temporary detention of the 27-year-old for three months. The man will face charges concerning endangering two people with a real risk of death or serious bodily harm – an offence under article 160 of the penal code. Additionally, he will answer for contempt of the court driving ban and violation of the restraining order.

The proceedings are being conducted by police officers from Libiąża under the supervision of the prosecutor's office in Chrzanów.
