Driving despite ban and narcotics in apartment – arrest in Rabka-Zdrój
According to trojmiasto.pl, on 16 January 2026, officers from the Police Station in Rabka-Zdrój detained a local resident who was driving a car despite a final court ban on operating motor vehicles.
Following the detention, police conducted a search of the man's apartment. A significant quantity of mephedrone was discovered there – a total of 150 grammes of psychotropic substance.
The detained individual was taken to the District Prosecutor's Office in Nowy Targ, where he was presented with two charges: failure to comply with a court ban on driving vehicles (Article 244 of the Penal Code) and possession of a significant quantity of psychotropic substances (Article 62 subsection 2 of the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction). The man admitted to both offences.
The prosecutor applied liberty-restricting preventive measures. Cash in the amount of 2,000 Polish zlotys was secured from the suspect as security for potential future penalties.
The investigation is being conducted by the Police Station in Rabka-Zdrój under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Nowy Targ.
