Young personal trainer defrauded gym clients of nearly 2 million zlotys
A 23-year-old from Jelenia Góra was remanded in custody on suspicion of defrauding three people of nearly 2 million zlotys. The man met his victims while working as a fitness instructor at a local gym.
In June, he persuaded clients that it was worth buying property together. The victims decided to take on financial obligations and transfer their accumulated funds to the suspect's account. According to prosecutor Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, the gathered evidence shows that from the very beginning there was no plan to purchase premises.
The suspect denies guilt and made a statement. He does not appear in the register of convicted persons.
The prosecution is investigating whether he acted alone and whether the circle of victims is wider. He faces between one and ten years in prison for fraud.
