The lifeless body of a 16-year-old girl was found in a rented room in Biała Podlaska. Prosecutors are treating it as a homicide. On Sunday, 7 June, her boyfriend — a twenty-year-old — is to hear the charges against him.
Family and friends of Gabriela became concerned when they lost contact with her in the middle of last week. They reported the matter to the police station. Officers went to check the address where the teenager had been living for a quarter of a year together with her partner.
The girl's body was discovered in the room hidden under bedding. According to information provided by Fakt, death may have resulted from a sharp instrument.
— There is no doubt that we are dealing with a murder — stated the spokesman for the Lublin Regional Prosecution Office, Marcin Kozak.
The search for the suspect led officers to the home of his parents in a nearby county. It turned out that the young man had previously caused a turbulent scene. Relatives called the emergency services, suspecting problems with psychoactive substances. After being overpowered, he came under the care of psychiatrists.
That is where the team conducting the investigation into the girl's death found him. He was detained again. Soon the court will consider a request for his remand in custody.
— The proceedings are ongoing, today we are submitting a request for arrest — prosecutor Kozak said.
On Monday, forensic doctors will conduct an autopsy. Its results will make it possible to establish exactly what led to the death and a full picture of the events. If the suspect is found guilty, he faces a life sentence.
