Disco polo musician from Ostrołęka district convicted of rape and abuse of wife
The District Court in Ostrołęka sentenced Rafał S. to 3.5 years imprisonment for rape and abuse of his wife. The verdict is not final.
Verdict for disco polo musician: 3.5 years for rape and domestic violence
Rafał S., known among disco polo fans in Ostrołęka district, was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months imprisonment, RMF24 reported. The District Court in Ostrołęka found him guilty of all charges brought against him.
The prosecution filed a total of 11 charges against Rafał S.: six concerning rape, one rape combined with causing bodily injury, as well as abuse of his wife, making criminal threats, and insult. All the offences were directed at Małgorzata S. and took place within Ostrołęka district.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered the convicted man to pay 10,000 zloty to the victim and cover court costs. He was also issued a restraining order to stay at least 20 metres away from his wife and was banned from contacting her in any form for 3 years.
The verdict is not final. Both the accused and the prosecution may appeal to the District Court. The prosecution considered the ruling justified.
