Three teenagers detained following a robbery of a man in the railway station area of Bytom. The victim lost a club shirt and scarf.
Robbery at Bytom railway station — police detain three minors
A robbery occurred on 12 September 2026 in the railway station area of Bytom. According to wiadomosci.wp.pl, a 45-year-old man was sitting on a bench when he was confronted by a group of people — the impulse for the aggression was reportedly the club colours he was wearing.
Initially there was abuse and insults. Subsequently, one of the attackers took from the victim a shirt and scarf connected with club affiliation. The matter was taken up by Bytom detectives.
Following the report of the incident, police officers began establishing the course of events in the robbery and identifying the participants. Officers searched the area near the location of the incident and secured evidence material, including recordings from surveillance cameras. It was these recordings that led to the detention of three suspects.
Two of the detained individuals — aged 14 and 16 — were questioned. The collected case material is to be sent to the appropriate family court, which will decide on further proceedings against the minors.
The third detained person, a 17-year-old, was brought to the Bytom prosecutor's office. He was charged with robbery, and investigators applied a preventive measure against him in the form of police supervision.
Activities are continuing under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Bytom. The aim is to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and establish the role of individual persons.
In a statement, police emphasised their firm stance against all manifestations of aggression: "There is no tolerance for behaviour in which club affiliation, worn colours or supporter sympathies become a reason for intimidating, threatening or committing violence against another person".
