Police have arrested a 22-year-old foreign national who robbed a currency exchange in the centre of Łódź on Friday morning. The perpetrator terrorised an employee with an object resembling a firearm and stole 204 thousand zloty in various currencies.

On Friday morning in the centre of Łódź, a currency exchange was robbed. The attacker terrorised a 32-year-old employee with an object that appeared to be a firearm, then stole 204 thousand zloty in various currencies from the premises and fled.
Officers from the City Police Headquarters in Łódź quickly took action. As a result of operational procedures, they arrested a 22-year-old foreign national who is suspected of committing the crime. The man was taken into police custody.
The incident occurred on Friday in the morning hours. The perpetrator entered the currency exchange and demanded money be handed over, threatening the employee with an object resembling a firearm. After stealing cash in various currencies, he left the premises and fled the scene.
Investigators are now establishing all the circumstances of the robbery and whether the arrested man may be connected to similar crimes committed in the country.
