In mid-June of this year, criminal investigators from the District Police Headquarters in Nowy Targ detained a 40-year-old man. Officers suspected him of trafficking and production of narcotic substances.
According to Małopolska Police, operatives from the Criminal Investigation Department conducted a search of the premises occupied by the suspect. During the search, more than 320 grams of plant material was found and seized, which was preliminarily identified as marijuana.
In the course of further investigative steps, detectives discovered that the seized material resulted from illegal cultivation carried out by the same man. Three young cannabis plants other than fibre varieties were also found in the premises and were destroyed.
The man was interrogated at the prosecutor's office and was charged with production and possession of substantial quantities of psychoactive substances. The criminal code provides strict penalties for this type of crime.
The court decided to place the suspect under police supervision and financial bail. This means that the 40-year-old remains at liberty but must report regularly at the police station.
