"Police officer" fraud in Słupsk: 33-year-old woman lost over 210,000 zloty
A 33-year-old woman from Słupsk lost more than 210,000 zloty after speaking to a person posing as a police officer. This is the second such case in the region in recent days.
Fake police officer defrauded 33-year-old woman from Słupsk of over 210,000 zloty
According to Google News PL — Crime (pl), a 33-year-old woman from Słupsk lost more than 210,000 zloty as a result of a scam using the "police officer" method. The victim received a telephone call with information that her bank's employees were planning to transfer her savings to their own accounts.
— The voice on the telephone explained that there was a way to prevent this. An alleged police officer from Warsaw was supposed to help the woman resolve the problem — said Amadeusz Galus, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Słupsk.
This is the second similar case in the region within the last few days. Earlier, an 80-year-old resident of Lęborek lost nearly 150,000 zloty, which she handed over to a man posing as a participant in a police operation.
Police remind the public that officers never contact people by telephone requesting money transfers or participation in secret operations.
